STREAM TREE WORLD OUTREACH FOUNDATION

Damilola Odetunde Autobiography (1987).

Damilola Odetunde was born June 30th, 1987, in a small city called Ikorodu, at the Noah Teaching Hospital Lagos State, Nigeria. He was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Odetunde. His both parents were businessmen and woman respectively. He grew up in a family of six children.
On August 2nd, 1995, his father’s business was affected by the recession that hit the country at this time. Due to this, his dad could not afford to pay the house rent where they lived in Ikorodu, Lagos state, Nigeria. As a result of this, the only option for the family was to relocate to his hometown, where he built his house in Modakeke, Osun state, Nigeria. Before the family was affected by the recession in 1995, while still in Lagos state, Damilola was known to be a playful child who loved hanging out with most of his peers within the same neighborhood. Most of the games he engaged in were not limited to; game boys, wheel tire rolling, block climbing, role-playing with peers, and soccer games matches.
Between the years 1987-1997, Damilola went to St. Margaret Nursery & Primary School, Victoria Nursery and Primary School (Deeper Life School), and then continued his studies in Osun State where he attended L. A primary school, Ilesha Bye pass, Fajuyi Rd sabo, Ile-Ife Osun state, Nigeria.
While in the quest to secure a greener pasture with his parents in Osun State, Damilola could not continue his education at some point because his parents could not get him enrolled to continue his studies due to financial constraints. So, he had to stay back at home for some time while seeing his other friends and family going to school. In order, for him to continue his education, his mum had to sell all her gold jewelry with some other items for him to go to school. Eventually, he started school which was L. A public, Nursery, and primary school. In those days, he and his sister were very good at hawking to help their parents, most especially their mum to trade most of the perishable and non-perishable items you could ever think of. This helped to sustain the family finances at some point. At the age of 8 years old, he became the human capital, a global sales rep for the family because he was very good at sales during those years. Items that were hawked were not limited to; Natural Gas Liquid (kerosene), fruits such as Orange, bananas, cooked corn maize, vegetables, and leaf rice with stew. These lasted for about 3 to 4 years before his dad’s demise on August 2nd,1997.

August 2nd, 1997, a day never to be forgotten in the history of the Odetunde family. It was indeed a day when the eagle left his wife and his six children never to return. It was a day of mourning and gnashing of teeth for the entire family. It was a day when sweat turned to blood and the journey of poverty began with the entire family. At around 10:05 pm, the eagle gave up the ghost, and the family was separated for about 10 years before reuniting gradually. Because of these unforeseen circumstances, Damilola had to relocate to Ilorin where his dad’s younger brother who represents his dad took up all the responsibility to see him grow into what he is today. After relocating to Ilorin, Damilola had to start from class three at Baptist public and primary school (Surulere) and then moved to the Apostolic Grammar School in the year 2000/2001 to finish his High School Diploma. Towards this time, life has begun to be unveiled back to normal gradually. His two elder brothers Ola and Afolabi Odetunde (Taiwo & Kehinde) got the opportunity to leave the country in quest of a greener pasture, purposedly because of the family and that bold step changed the entire course of the Odetunde family.
These two giants of the Bode Odetunde family (Ola and Afolabi Odetunde) took the role of fatherhood in his life. They sponsored him to a university back in Nigeria and then helped him to relocate to Canada to continue his education which helped him evolve into who he is today.
Damilola graduated from Ladoke. Akintola University of Technology with a 2.2 from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in the year 2014/2015 and then relocated abroad to continue his studies in Geographical information systems (GIS).
In his quest to understand who he was, that is his identity, especially in a developed world like Canada, one of the top three best countries in the world. He discovered that GIS was not for him, so he had to divert a little bit to become a humanitarian. Because of this career change, he went back to school and had a degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in divinity (Theological Study).
Damilola started working full-time capacity in the year 2022 in one of the most well-known companies in Canada as a Rehabilitation Consultant. He is also the Founder & CEO of Stream Tree Global Outreach and Foundation which was officially launched on February 11, 2023, in Nigeria and operating in Canada.
